PushFit

The plug-in connection for drinking water was co-concieved by Tribecraft and designed for all items in the product line.

In addition to pipes and plug fittings, the PushFit product range also includes an extensive range of distribution and adapter elements made of plastic and metal, installation aids, tools and accessories. The fittings, as the central element of the system, can be simply plugged onto the pipes and indicate the secure connection via the green indicator window.

Until the introduction of the PushFit system, connectors were not considered to be particularly reliable for fresh water installations. But whenever Geberit establishes a new system as the standard, it is backed up by years of development and meticulous testing. For this reason, we paid great attention to the perception of robustness and design coherence of the approximately 40 different elements of the system.

Geberit's esteem for installers is reflected in the care installation elements and the associated tools are conceived and designed with. For the PushFit system we have developed a tool for calibrating the lengthened pipe ends. All three diameters of the system are combined in a star-shaped geometry that fits in any pocket. Ergonomics and availability support the workflow and thus also the security of the tight seal.

The PushFit system includes flexible polybutene hoses in a protective tube. In wet and dry construction, these pipes require guiding elements and shuttering boxes so that they can be laid cleanly and safely in the formwork or masonry. After detailed usage analyses on the construction site, we made sure that the installers find it much easier to lay them: Compared to previous systems, the new insertion aids have a higher stability and stiffness, a wide range of fastening options and are optimally merged with the concrete. The fact that the elements can be added together with clicks and contain feedback features such as audible and haptic clicks for safe installation improves the workflow. In addition, they can be easily stripped without rust spots and offer a neatly designed appearance in the visible areas.

Yard goods at first sight. But the tubes play a central role for the installation and require proper and careful designwork.

More Geberit installation systems

In many years of cooperation with Geberit, installation technology has been further developed through design thinking.
Geberit Mapress metal fittings are crimped with a special tool. The indicator ring first shows material and diameter while intact. When exfoliated, the pressing operation has taken place and the connection is sealed.
We have graphically developed the idea of Geberit - a destructible foil ring - into a trademark and classification system which helps distinguishing the various metals' applications.
Geberit flushing valves are used in millions of cisterns in-wall and in front of the wall. They feature dual flush and can be adapted to any geometry.
Tribecraft accompanied several developments of filler- and flush valves and always emphasizes a simple use and a neat design even in complex construction layouts.
Geberit Urinal controls are available as a platform with infrared sensors and pneumatic operation. A hierarchy in access layers as well as a safety valve prevent water damage in case of faulty maintenance.
We designed the order of operations and the hierarchy to ensure good maintenance and servicing. Pneumatic and infrared modules are clearly differentiated.
The Geberit generator unit for electronic faucets is the ecologic mikro power station underneath the washstand. The mini-turbine harvests energy from the supply water's pressure.
We worked on installation logic, layout and design to make the unit as compact as possible. With it's unobtrusive but sturdy design it won the iF Design Award.
